Memories are something that will never go away. They’ll always be inscribed on your heart—not your brain. Looking at something may bring back a certain feeling. Seeing a certain someone may bring back a certain desire. And it never goes away because there’s so many things in this world we associate people with.

Inside jokes, old pictures, song dedications, or just regular foods that people eat sometimes make things harder on all of us. Jokes that once made our relationships feel so special because we can laugh without having to explain why. Pictures that never change but the situation in real life has already changed. Songs that depict our inner feelings for each other but in reality are no longer that way. Or foods that we enjoy cooking for each other because cooking is done from the heart.

Anything in the world can bring a sense of attachment. Smiles will fade, love will die, and people will grow apart, but we continue to live. Without those old smiles, without our first loves or heartache, and without those that are no longer with us because it’s life. And that’s how it runs, and before you know it, what was once yesterday is now just a memory.
